Wright's Ferry Mansion
Address:38 S 2nd St., Columbia
Phone: (717)684-4325
Wright's Ferry Mansion stands as evidence of the strong rooting of the settlement made by a handful of English Quakers coming from Chester and Darby, Pennsylvania, to wild and virtually uninhabited country along the Susquehanna River.
This restored 1738 house interprets the life of Susanna Wright, an early resident of the county. It contains
a superb collection of 18th century decorative arts.
This house is rumored to have subterranean passageways that lead to the Susquehanna River in which slaves were smuggled to freedom.
