The purpose of the North Museum is to generate excitement, curiosity and life-long learning in the natural and physical sciences and technology by offering excellent programs, experiences, exhibits and a regional archive of well-preserved and curated collections to interest both children and adults. The Museum will foster strong community involvement to fulfill this purpose.
The North Museum is a wonderful resource for educators at every level. Our resources include two floors of permanent exhibits, a gallery of rotating exhibits, a planetarium, extensive natural history collections, and enthusiastic, knowledgeable guides. These work together to help us achieve our mission to generate excitement, curiosity, and life long
learning; they are rich and varied, and enable us to meet the needs of learners of all ages.
From the foundations of our earth to the wonders of space, dinosaurs to Native Americans, hands-on discovery for children to live snakes and turtles, the North Museum offers a universe of fun learning experiences about science and the natural world.
Exhibits, special events, lecture programs, live animals, field trips and the largest planetarium in central Pennsylvania make the North Museum the center for science learning adventure in the Lancaster area.
Our planetarium is Central Pennsylvania's largest and offers a variety of programs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It is equipped with the latest "All-Sky" and video technology to enhance your cosmic adventure!
