Ingredients:
2-1/4 C. flour; 1/3 C. sugar; 1 C. dark Karo or molasses; 3/4 C. hot water; 1/2 C. butter; 1 egg; 1 tsp. baking soda; 1 tsp. ginger; 1 tsp. cinnamon; Dash salt; one 8 oz. pkg. soft cream cheese; 1/4 C. milk
Preparation:
Grease and flour 9x9x2" pan. Measure all ingredients except cream cheese and milk into a large mixing bowl. Use a mixer and blend on low for 30 seconds; blend over medium for 3 minutes. Pour into 9x9x2" pan and bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes. In another bowl, beat cream cheese and milk until fluffy; set aside. Cut baked bread into 9 pieces, split and fill with 1/2 tablespoon cream cheese mixture. Top pieces with remaining cream cheese.
