Ingredients:
1 large onion, diced; 2 sticks butter; 3 lbs. lean ground beef; 1/2 can tomato paste; 1/2 C. water; Salt and pepper to taste; 1/2 tsp. cinnamon; 1/2 tsp. nutmeg; 1/2 C. white wine; 1 C. milk; 2 eggs; one 16 oz. pkg. elbow macaroni; 1 lb. grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation:
Cook and drain macaroni. Saute onion in a little butter; add beef and brown; add next 6 ingredients and simmer until thick. Melt remaining butter and pour over cooked macaroni, mix well. In a large shallow casserole layer, half the macaroni and half the cheese. Now layer beef then remaining macaroni and cheese. In a bowl, mix eggs and milk and pour over casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serves 8 to 10.
