Ingredients:
4 slices bread; Butter; 1-1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms; 2 C. light cream (or half and half); Fresh ground pepper; 1 T. lemon juice; 3 T. butter
Preparation:
Use stale bread to butter 4 slices and break into small pieces into a deep-dish pie plate. Chop mushroom stems and slice caps and layer on top of bread. Sprinkle with lemon juice and pepper. Add cream until dish is 2/3 full. Dot with butter and bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
