Ingredients:
4 slices bacon, crisp and crumbled; 2 bunches of fresh broccoli or two 10 oz. pkgs. frozen spears; 2 T. butter; 2 T. flour; 2 C. milk; 1 C. shredded Cheddar cheese; 1 tsp. salt; 1/4 tsp. pepper; 1/2 C. bread crumbs; Sliced almonds (opt.)
Preparation:
Cook broccoli; drain and place in shallow casserole. In a saucepan, melt butter and stir in flour; gradually add milk and cook until thick. Add cheese, salt and pepper and remove from heat. Add almonds if desired and pour sauce over broccoli. Sprinkle top with bread crumbs and bacon. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
